Our portfolio is centred on Europe, with particular strength in Grower Champagne, alongside a carefully curated selection of producers from across the world. What unites them is not geography, but philosophy: wines that express place, are made with intent, and meet uncompromising standards of quality. Many of the producers we represent farm organically or biodynamically, with a strong emphasis on sustainable practices and minimal intervention in the cellar.

At its core, Truffle Imports exists to connect New Zealand’s wine community with producers of genuine pedigree—wines that are not only collectible, but compelling to drink.

HISTORY

Founded in 2002, Truffle Imports is a specialist importer and distributor of fine wines, with a clear focus on quality, provenance, and long-standing relationships. Built over many years under the stewardship of John Follas, the portfolio reflects a deeply personal approach to sourcing—working closely with growers and winemakers, often across generations, to represent wines of authenticity and character.

Today, Truffle Imports continues to evolve while staying true to these foundations, under the direction of Jessica Wood and Maciej Zimny of Noble Rot Wine Bar. With extensive experience in hospitality and a deep understanding of fine wine service, their approach brings a practical, service-driven perspective to the import and distribution space—ensuring the wines not only reflect quality at origin, but also resonate in a restaurant and customer context.

ALLOCATIONS & SERVICE

Due to the nature of these relationships—and the small scale at which many of our producers operate—allocations are often limited. Many wines are produced in very small quantities and distributed globally, meaning availability can be highly constrained. As a result, some wines sell out well before the arrival of the following vintage.

We work closely with both trade partners and private clients, offering access to a portfolio that includes some of the most sought-after producers in the world. For select wines, we offer allocation opportunities, providing priority access to rare and limited releases.
