Located in the Alt Penedès in Catalonia, Recaredo produces Serral del Vell from organically farmed vineyards planted mainly to Xarel·lo with supporting Macabeu. The vineyards lie on limestone soils that contribute structure and mineral character. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts followed by traditional bottle fermentation and extended ageing on lees. The balanced 2017 vintage delivered both freshness and depth. Compared with Terrers, Serral del Vell shows greater concentration and ageing potential, combining citrus, apple and toasted almond notes with vibrant acidity and refined mousse. https://www.recaredo.com/home-recaredo/
