Based in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Champagne Hébrart produces Clos le Léon from a small walled vineyard planted primarily to Pinot Noir. The parcel lies within the Premier Cru village of Dizy where chalk soils contribute both power and mineral character. Grapes are fermented in stainless steel and oak vessels before extended ageing on lees in bottle. The balanced 2016 vintage delivered both ripeness and structure.
