Kisi is an aromatic indigenous white grape associated primarily with Kakheti in eastern Georgia. Once close to disappearing from commercial vineyards, it has been successfully revived and is now regarded as one of the country’s most promising native varieties. Conventionally vinified Kisi typically displays white peach, apricot, pear, citrus blossom and fresh herbs. Traditional qvevri fermentation with extended skin contact creates a deeper amber expression, introducing flavours of dried apricot, orange peel, tea, honey and spice alongside fine tannic structure. Kisi combines aromatic intensity with freshness, texture and a distinctive ability to express both modern and traditional Georgian winemaking.
