Kakhuri Mtsvane, meaning “green from Kakheti,” is an indigenous white grape variety from eastern Georgia. It is valued for its aromatic character and produces graceful wines with notes of peach, pear, citrus, white flowers and fresh herbs. Conventional vinification highlights the variety’s perfume, clean fruit and refreshing character. When fermented in qvevri with its skins, Kakhuri Mtsvane develops greater texture and complexity, showing dried fruit, herbal tea, gentle spice and subtle tannins. Its combination of fragrance, softness and freshness makes it one of Kakheti’s most attractive and approachable white varieties.
