2025 Massimo Rivetti ‘Bussolino’ Langhe Rosso
Produced from a blend of Barbera and Nebbiolo grown in organically farmed vineyards surrounding Neive and Treiso in the heart of the Langhe, “Bussolino” is a vibrant and approachable expression of Piedmont’s winemaking tradition. The vineyards are planted on limestone-rich marl and sandy soils, which contribute freshness, balance and aromatic complexity to the finished wine.
The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified separately to preserve the individual character of each variety. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, followed by maturation in stainless-steel tanks for approximately 10–12 months. This gentle, low-intervention approach allows the purity of fruit and regional character to shine through while maintaining freshness and vibrancy.
Barbera provides the wine’s generous core of ripe cherry, plum and dark berry fruit, while Nebbiolo contributes floral aromatics, bright acidity and refined structure. The palate is juicy and expressive, combining vibrant red and black fruit flavours with notes of violet, liquorice and subtle spice. Fresh and energetic, it finishes with a savoury mineral edge and fine balance.
A versatile and food-friendly red, “Bussolino” captures the charm of the Langhe in a style that is both approachable and authentic. Equally suited to pasta, charcuterie, pizza, roasted poultry and grilled meats, it offers immediate enjoyment while retaining the elegance for which Piedmont is renowned.
