2016 Weingut Leo Alzinger Riesling Steinertal Smaragd
Based in Dürnstein, Weingut Leo Alzinger cultivates steep gneiss terraces overlooking the Danube. Steinertal is a high, cool vineyard with thin primary rock soils, producing linear, mineral Riesling. Classified as Smaragd, it reflects structure and ageing potential. The cooler 2016 vintage was fermented in stainless steel and aged on fine lees. Compared to Loiben Riesling, Steinertal is tighter and more precise, showing citrus, white peach and pronounced mineral tension with vibrant acidity and long, focused finish. https://alzinger.at/
