Based in Montagny, Domaine Cottenceau cultivates Chardonnay on clay-limestone soils across the appellation. Les Bassets comes from hillside parcels producing fresh and mineral wines. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged partly in neutral oak, the wine retains fruit purity and texture. The cooler 2021 vintage emphasised precision and acidity. Compared to the 2020 vintage, this release is more linear and tension-driven, combining citrus, green apple and subtle mineral backbone with focused finish.
