2025 Massimo Rivetti ‘Aurelia’ Langhe Arneis
Produced from 100% Arneis grown in organically farmed vineyards in the Langhe hills of Piedmont, “Aurelia” takes its name from Massimo Rivetti’s grandmother. The vineyards are situated at over 500 metres above sea level, where cooler temperatures help preserve freshness, aromatic intensity and natural acidity. The calcareous soils contribute the distinctive mineral character for which the wine is known. The grapes are harvested during the coolest hours of the day and transported to the winery using dry ice to protect their delicate aromatics. Following harvest, the fruit undergoes approximately 24 hours of cold maceration at 0°C, allowing gentle extraction of aromatic compounds from the skins before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. The wine is matured on fine lees in stainless steel for several months, enhancing texture and complexity while preserving varietal purity and freshness.
The resulting wine is vibrant and expressive, offering aromas of white blossom, pear, green apple and citrus zest. The palate is crisp and energetic, combining ripe orchard fruit with refreshing acidity and a distinctive mineral backbone. Fresh, precise and elegantly textured, it finishes long and clean with subtle floral notes and a saline edge.
A classic expression of Arneis, this wine is ideally suited to seafood, shellfish, fresh cheeses and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, while its freshness also makes it an excellent aperitif.
