Based in Baños de Ebro, Bodegas Artuke works old bush vines across Rioja Alavesa with focus on site transparency. Paso Las Mañas is a high-altitude vineyard near Samaniego planted mainly to Tempranillo on thin calcareous soils. Fermented in concrete with native yeasts and aged in 600-litre French oak barrels, the aim is clarity rather than extraction. The warm but balanced 2022 vintage produced a wine of energy and lift. Compared to 2020, this release shows slightly more fruit expression, combining red berry, subtle spice and fine tannins with pronounced mineral tension and freshness. https://www.artuke.com
