Based in the Wachau, Weingut F. X. Pichler farms steep terraced vineyards dominated by ancient gneiss soils that give the wines their distinctive minerality. Steinertal is among the coolest vineyards of the estate, producing precise and structured Riesling. Grapes are hand-picked and fermented in stainless steel and large oak casks, followed by maturation on fine lees. The Smaragd classification indicates a late-harvested dry wine with concentration and ageing potential.
