Based in Oberloiben in the Wachau, Weingut F. X. Pichler cultivates Riesling on steep terraces overlooking the Danube River. Loibenberg is a warm hillside vineyard planted on weathered gneiss soils that produce powerful and expressive wines. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel and large oak vessels followed by ageing on fine lees. The warm 2022 vintage delivered ripe fruit and generous texture. Compared with the cooler Steinertal Riesling, Loibenberg shows broader fruit expression, combining peach, citrus and herbal notes with structured mineral backbone. https://www.fx-pichler.at
