Located in the Beaujolais village of Villié-Morgon, J‑P & Charly Thévenet produces Morgon Vieilles Vignes from old Gamay vines grown on decomposed granite soils. Fermentation takes place using semi-carbonic maceration followed by ageing in neutral oak barrels to preserve the purity of fruit. The warm 2022 vintage delivered ripe fruit and vibrant acidity. Bottled in magnum, the wine matures more slowly, allowing greater complexity to develop over time. Compared with the standard bottle, the magnum format emphasises depth and balance, combining dark cherry, plum and floral notes with fine tannins and mineral finish.
