2023 J-P et Charly Thévenet ‘Terrain Rouge’ Beaujolais Blanc
Named after the distinctive iron-rich red soils from which it originates, Terrain Rouge highlights another compelling expression of Morgon’s diverse terroirs. The vineyard’s combination of granite subsoils and iron-rich topsoil contributes both power and mineral depth to the finished wine. Produced from 100% Gamay, the grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts using traditional semi-carbonic techniques, followed by maturation in neutral oak barrels. The 2023 vintage reveals aromas of dark cherry, blackberry and subtle spice. The palate is concentrated and energetic, supported by fine tannins and a long, savoury finish.
