Based in Martinborough in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand, Kusuda Wines produces Riesling from low-yield vineyards planted on gravel soils that provide excellent drainage and preserve freshness. Fermentation takes place slowly at cool temperatures to retain aromatic purity and varietal precision. The 2024 vintage delivered vibrant acidity and expressive aromatics. Compared with the estate’s Pinot Noir and Syrah wines, Riesling offers a lighter and more mineral-driven style, combining citrus, green apple and floral notes with crisp acidity and long, focused finish typical of cool-climate New Zealand Riesling.
