2016 Matteo Correggia Langhe Apapa
Based in Canale in the Roero area of Piedmont, Matteo Correggia cultivates vineyards on sandy and limestone soils that give aromatic and structured wines. Apapa is produced from Nebbiolo grown on selected parcels across the Langhe. Fermented with controlled maceration in stainless steel and aged in oak barrels, the wine emphasises varietal character and balance. The structured 2016 vintage delivered depth and ageing potential. Compared to Roche d’Ampsej, Apapa is slightly more approachable in youth, combining red cherry, dried rose and subtle spice with refined tannins and mineral lift. https://www.matteocorreggia.com/en/homepage/
