Based in the Wachau, Weingut F. X. Pichler farms steep terraced vineyards composed of ancient gneiss and primary rock. Steinertal is one of the coolest sites of the estate, producing Grüner Veltliner with exceptional precision and mineral definition. Grapes are harvested by hand and fermented in stainless steel and large oak casks, followed by extended ageing on fine lees. The Smaragd classification denotes the most concentrated dry style of the Wachau.
