Located in the northern Rhône Valley, Domaine Julien Pilon produces Côte-Rôtie from steep granite terraces overlooking the Rhône River. La Porchette comes from selected parcels planted primarily to Syrah with a small proportion of Viognier, reflecting the traditional style of the appellation. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts followed by ageing in French oak barrels to develop structure and complexity. The balanced 2019 vintage delivered both concentration and freshness. Compared with Pilon’s regional wines, La Porchette shows greater depth and ageing potential, combining blackberry, violet and pepper notes with refined tannins and long mineral finish. https://julienpilon.fr/
