2016 Château Sansonnet Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
Located on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, Château Sansonnet is a historic estate whose vineyards sit on clay-limestone soils overlooking the medieval village. The wine is produced primarily from Merlot with smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled vats followed by ageing in French oak barrels to develop structure and complexity. The warm 2016 vintage delivered both concentration and freshness. Compared with wines from the lower slopes of the appellation, Sansonnet often shows greater limestone-driven precision, combining plum, dark cherry and subtle spice with firm tannins and long mineral finish typical of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. https://chateau-sansonnet.com/en/
