Based in Canale in the Roero hills of Piedmont, Matteo Correggia is known for expressive wines grown on the sandy and calcareous soils typical of the region. ‘Marun’ is a Barbera d’Alba sourced from mature vines planted on south-facing slopes. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with controlled maceration, followed by ageing in French oak barrels to add texture while preserving fruit character. The balanced 2017 vintage delivered ripeness with lively acidity.
