Based in the rugged Patrimonio appellation of northern Corsica, Nicolas Mariotti Bindi is regarded as one of the island’s most exciting new-generation vignerons, farming his vineyards organically and working with minimal intervention in the cellar. Mursaglia Rouge is produced entirely from Nielluccio, Corsica’s flagship red variety, sourced from a high-density parcel planted on clay and limestone soils in the Mursaglia vineyard. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with native yeasts using whole clusters, before undergoing extended maturation in a combination of stainless steel and concrete tanks to preserve purity while enhancing texture and complexity. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphur, the wine is a transparent expression of both grape and place. The 2021 vintage reveals aromas of red cherry, wild berries and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is vibrant and finely structured, combining fresh acidity with supple tannins and a long, savoury finish.
