Based in the Langhe hills of Piedmont, G. D. Vajra produces this distinctive blend combining Barbera and Freisa from vineyards planted on calcareous marl soils. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts followed by ageing in oak barrels to develop depth and structure. The balanced 2020 vintage delivered both freshness and concentration. Compared with pure Barbera wines, the addition of Freisa adds structure and aromatic complexity, combining dark cherry, blackberry and subtle spice with lively acidity and firm yet refined tannins typical of traditional Piedmontese blends. https://www.vajra.it
