Located in the village of Vergne above Barolo, G. D. Vajra is a family estate known for elegant wines rooted in traditional Langhe vineyards. Barbera d’Alba comes from hillside vineyards planted on limestone and clay soils around Barolo and Alba. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel followed by ageing in large oak casks and neutral barrels to preserve fruit purity. The warm 2023 vintage delivered vibrant fruit balanced by lively acidity. Compared with the estate’s Barbera Superiore, this cuvée shows a fresher and more immediate style, combining red cherry, plum and subtle spice with bright acidity and supple texture typical of classic Barbera. https://www.vajra.it
