Located in the Langhe region of Piedmont, G. D. Vajra produces Barbera d’Alba Superiore from selected hillside vineyards planted on limestone-rich soils. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel followed by ageing in large oak casks and barrels to build complexity and structure. The warm 2022 vintage delivered ripe fruit balanced by vibrant acidity. Compared with the estate’s classic Barbera d’Alba, the Superiore shows greater depth and ageing potential, combining plum, blackberry and spice with supple tannins and long finish typical of structured Barbera wines. https://www.vajra.it
