Located in the Montsant region of Catalonia, Venus La Universal produces the Venus cuvée from Garnacha with smaller proportions of Carignan grown on a range of soils including clay, limestone and granite. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts followed by ageing in oak barrels to develop structure and complexity. The balanced 2016 vintage delivered both depth and freshness.
